We perform City of Oakland sidewalk inspections on Monday and Wednesdays of each week.

The City of Oakland Sidewalk Certification procedure can take three paths.

Bad Sidewalk
If the sidewalk needs repairs in order to become certified, Gen-Tech Construction, Inc. will provide you with an original inspection report, photos, and estimate for the repairs. For sidewalks requiring repairs, the inspector will mark the area requiring repairs with white paint during their inspection.

No Sidewalk
You do not need an inspection. If your property does not have a sidewalk and you are transferring title, request an exemption certification from the City.

Good Sidewalk
The initial inspection report with photos, a copy of the invoice and the sidewalk certificate of compliance has to be filed with the Oakland Public Works Department. Our fee to file and provide the compliance certificate is $325.00.  (This fee includes the $87.21 Compliance certificate fee charged by the City of Oakland.) The compliance certificate is good for 5 years.
